International companies involved in 2010 activity

AMRITAM SHAKTI DANCE COMPANY (Trinidad & Tobago):
This is a ‘Chutney Dance’ group who perform Caribbean, Indian carnival dance. The only East Indian dance troupe to perform at the Fifth Summit of The Americas held in Trinidad and Tobago in 2009, one guest being US President Barak Obama.

COUNTRY BOYS TASSA GROUP (Trinidad & Tobago):
This is a Tassa drumming percussion group who perform Caribbean, Indian rhythms, they have won many awards in the Trinidad carnival and were hosted by Brouhaha in 2009. The Country Boys bring the Tassa Style, indigenous to Trinidad. Mixing traditional South Asian rhythms with the Caribbean sound of Soca.

BALLET ENTREDANZAS (Spain):
Ballet Enteredanzas continue to push contemporary flamenco into uncharted territories with several dances with castanuelas and rhythmic clapping.

ECLODIR AZUL (Portugal):
Ecludir Azul use traditional Portuguese percussion of bombo, caixa and timbalao with a range of percussion instruments from around the world to create original music. This group has an energetic style mixing elements of gumboot and street dance into their show-stopping performances.

BALLET LES FONDS BLANC (Martinique):
This group of dancers present the folk dances of Martinique, including ‘Bel air’ and carnival dance.

GOT SKILLS URBAN DANCE SOCIETY (Holland):
Urban Dance Society is based in Rotterdam Holland and is a fusion of urban artists, break dancers, street dancers, krumpers and house dancers.

FIRE OF GYPSES (Turkey):
Present Roma dances from Turkey's Gypsy communities. They have performed in festivals across Europe and now come to the UK for the first time.

KOZMAN TI DALON (Reunion Island/Indian Ocean):
An incredible musical performance of Maloya music using congas, djembes and traditional instruments such as the mighty rouleur bass drum and the acrobatic fighting-dance style of Moring.

BAYE GOOR FALL/LA PARANZA DEL GECO (Italy):
This Italian Company will once again delight Liverpool audiences with their Southern Italian artistic styles. They will take you to southern Italian folk festivals of a bygone time. Enthralling you with rhythms and beats of the Tarantella, they are joined by 4 Senegalese musicians who are living in Italy. Together they have created a new Italian/African music.

OFFICINA PULCINELLA (Italy):
Officina Pulcinella Street Theatre Project based in Turin run circus skills workshops. This year they will be bringing a a new Circus street show.

ROOTES & ROUTES (Germany):
The AXXident Crew dancers are a multi-cultural group from Cologne, Germany. They share the same love and passion for music, dance and Hip Hop culture. On stage they present a funky and energetic show with different dance-styles such as B-Boying, and Popping and Locking.
Angolanka consist of 3 members from Angola/Congo, Sri Lanka and Laos. Their music features singing and rapping in English, French, Lingala and German.

OFFSHORE (Holland)
From Rotterdam, this band perform Reggae and funky urban music with some of Holland finest Mc’s. They have recently returned from a tour in Aruba.

AL-HARAH THEATRE (Palestine)
Based in Beit Jala, Palestine. Al-Harah was established in 2007 by 10 young people who have been trained by Al-Harah Theater since 2000. The theatre presents young people's issues and concerns through challenging performances.

REZODANSE (Egypt)
A dance company presenting traditional and contemporary styles.

ASSALA-MUSIC (Tunisia):
Presenting both traditional Sufi music as well as Andalus, Maluf and Oriental with contemporary electronic dance beats that lift the spirit. A beautiful mix the old and new melodies of Tunisia.

OSLO CULTURE HOUSE (Norway):
A group of Norwegian Bollywood dancers, who mix contemporary Indian dance with pop to create a fusion mix of styles. The group is representative of Norway's growing multicultural community

BIG BAND BROTHERS (Malta)
Bring you the flavour of the Maltese Fiesta. They promise to take you on an auditory and sensory tour of Central Mediterranean musical pageantry. Expect Jazz, Soul and Swing interlaced the more traditional Maltese styles and humorous touches.

P*FECT (Sweden)
The only dance group in Sweden to focus on waaking and voguing, P*Fect also perform hip hop, house, popping and classical/contemporary jazz and ballet. They choreographed and performed as main dancers for Hanna Lindblad's song Manipulated.

LES LATANIERS (Martinique)
This dance group represents many aspects from Martinique's African (Soukouss), French, Brazilian (axes) and Polish past. Their music represents the jazz improvisation of New Orleans and Cuban rhythms from the islands of the French West Indies.
