Brouhaha International is pleased to announce a new project ‘Understanding and Collecting Carnival Heritage and Traditions’ with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

This funding will see us working with local families, schools and community groups, to research the heritage of traditional Caribbean Carnival characters such as, Blue Devil, Book Man, Dame Lorraine and Midnight Robber. We will get four carnival artist and dancers t deliver community workshops, and develop performances based on research collected. We will also deliver interactive performances in Liverpool and Edinburgh, volunteers and a professional film maker will produce a documentary about carnival heritage. We will also be developing learning resources for schools, and supporting young participants to achieve Arts Award qualifications.
