Sari Nights – Celebrated European multiculturalism and cultural diversity, involving young people from diverse multicultral backgrounds looking at their experiences of cultural heritage and identity in UK, Italy, Norway, Spain and Netherlands. The activities carried out during the exchange included intercultural workshops in dance, music and street theatre.
The project worked with young people from minority backgrounds and low income communities developed collaborative performance work assisted by professional trainers through arts workshops, peer group sharing sessions, meetings and discussions. The youth arts workers also shared their skills, knowledge and experience of working in varied community contexts. Arts workshops included dance, street theatre, physical theatre, mask work, circus and acrobatics with the results of this work presented within the Brouhaha International Street Carnival 2011 that attracted a large-scale audience.
